Kim Sae-ron’s Mother Breaks Down Over Marriage Rumors, Halts Press Conference Due to Health Deterioration
On March 21, Star News obtained a handwritten letter from Ms. A, Kim Sae-ron’s mother, expressing her grief and heartbreak over the sudden loss of her daughter.
A wrote, “Even today, my head aches unbearably, and my heart feels heavy. I can’t throw away any of your belongings the clothes you wore, the things you used. I still hold onto them. Your pajamas still carry your scent, so I haven’t been able to wash them. I sleep holding them close.”
She continued, “You struggled so much saying you wanted to die are you at peace now? You used to joke that lots of friends would come if you died… and they really did. It made me realize how well you lived. It gave me strength and comfort.”
In her letter, she also reflected, “Looking back, I’m filled with nothing but regrets. You were constantly tormented, and maybe you just wanted to live as the ‘Kim Sae-ron’ portrayed in the media, to truly become that person and let go of the real world. I still can’t accept that.”
A also addressed the criticism directed at the bereaved family, stating, “I only wanted to prevent something like this from happening again. But instead, all I hear is denial of my existence and demands for explanations.”
Included in the revelations was a letter Kim Sae-ron had written to her mother for her birthday in 2022. In it, Kim Sae-ron expressed her love and gratitude, writing, “Mom, I’m always grateful and love you. Thank you for being born, and thank you for being my mom. In my next life, be born as my daughter and receive only love.”
Additionally, updates on Kim Sae-ron’s beloved pet were shared. Her Pomeranian, “Neoguri,” whom she adopted while volunteering at a shelter, remains with the bereaved family. The dog was reportedly by Kim Sae-ron’s side at the time of her passing.
The ongoing controversy has taken a new turn with emerging rumors that Kim Sae-ron may have gotten married in the U.S. shortly before her death and underwent an abortion. These rumors further complicate the earlier allegations of her underage relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun and debt-related pressures.
Ms. A had intended to hold a press conference to clear up misunderstandings and protect her daughter’s honor. However, after suffering facial paralysis and a significant decline in health following Kim Sae-ron’s death, she was forced to cancel the event. Instead, she chose to release the heartfelt letter.

In their March 20 statement, they said, “Photos depicting Kim Soo-hyun’s body in a sexually explicit manner were made public something that should never have happened and had no reason to happen.” They explained the legal move was necessary due to the potential for repeated offenses.
